Story
coloplast.co.uk- "A stoma is the result of an operation to remove disease such as cancer, Crohn's disease or diverticulitis - or from a bowel obstruction or injury to the digestive or urinary system. It is an artificial opening that allows faeces or urine either from the intestine or from the urinary tract to pass." The Buttony Bear charity provide young children affected by the surgery- either due to experiencing it themselves or through a family member- with a teddy bear which comes with a colostomy bag, to help them understand that it's nothing to worry about, and to settle their nerves at a very emotional time. The charity operates in the UK, and makes a real difference to many children affected by stoma surgery. We've chosen to support this charity by gaining sponsorship for our run in the Baker Hughes 10k, because the charity has a special connection to one of our friends at school. Cameron, Christopher and Finlay really appreciate your support and kind donations.
