    Story

Omnis Health & Safety Solutions wants to support all nurseries & schools in Halton to be fitted with a defibrillator. All money will be used to directly support the purchase of an AED and issued to nurseries and schools. £618 will need to be raised for each AED

we will be supporting Spinney Pre-school first, if you would like us to help your nursery or school in Halton contact us once the first AED is purchased we will be adding another and another until Halton is covered

In view of the vital role that AEDs can play in saving the lives of pupils, staff and other users of school premises, the Department for Education is encouraging all schools to consider purchasing these devices as part of their first-aid equipment

There is very little schools can do to predict the possibility of a pupil or teacher suffering a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), however there is one thing that all schools can do to give a person the best chance of survival should a child collapse and their heart stop beating - have a defibrillator on site. The chance of survival increases to 75% if a controlled electrical shock is administered within the first 5 minutes after SCA; the survival rate increases to 90% if the shock is administered within the first minute of collapse, opposed to only a 5% chance of survival if no shock from a defibrillator is administered.
