Dempsey lived outside a bank, hes a very sweet and peaceful boy, id say he‘s a cross between a Basset/Labrador/Shepherd. He scavenged for food the way all street dogs do.

A local took a disliking to him and ran over him in his car. Dempsey was about 2 years old when this happened. Tourists rushed him to a local shelter who had to treat his open wounds without anaesthetic, he was such a good boy and didn’t complain.

I met him about a year later in an overcrowded kennel, fully healed he was such a loving boy, he bonded immediately with my young Son. We set about to arrange to have him and a smaller malnourished dog (Bailey) brought to the UK.

Fundraising £2000 took about a year but in this time airlines changed their policy and pricing so we could only rescue one dog, funds meant we had to choose the lightweight malnourished dog. Semosey had his passport and injections ready to leave, it was heartbreaking having to chose between the two.

This was two years ago and the other dog Bailey is still with us and doing very well.

The shelter have reached out to us asking us to bring Dempsey over, due to his immunisations that we paid for several years ago he was one of just a few who survived a deadly disease outbreak at the shelter last year. Hes now getting old and grey and deserves to know what its like to have a loving family.
