    Story

In July this year, I shall be travelling to the Morobi refugee camp in Northern Uganda to do some work with a wonderful charity called Projects Delivering Hope

The Morobi camp and others like it in the area are home to over a million South Sudanese refugees. In the last few years, they have suffered terribly in the unrest and civil war, and many have had to flee their homes.

PDH's mission is to support the South Sudanese people, running short term projects which deliver long term aid.

Along with six other business people from the UK, and the PDH Trustees, I will be delivering training to small businesses, set up in and around the camp by the refugees, helping them to grow and develop and make their enterprises a great success. Each of us will be raising £3,000 to cover travel, accommodation and to fund the business training.

In addition, my fundraising will be contributing to the launch of a community-managed savings fund which will provide ongoing financial support to the businesses, as well as access to a local group manager who will work with them to help them become self-sufficient.

Helping these businesses will create more employment, and provide food and education for the families of all those involved.

I am really excited to be part of this project, using my business skills to help these fledgling businesses in northern Uganda. I have no doubt that I will learn loads too, and come back changed and challenged.

Please support me in this exciting adventure..
