Story
I am putting together a fundraising training day which involves 4x45 minute classes which will be an allover workout and I am looking for as much support as possible. It is to raise money for a kid I know, Declyn. He suffers from Dyskinetic Cerebral Palsy which affects muscle tone ,movement and motor skills. It hinders the body's ability to move in a coordinated way and can cause uncontrolled movements. It also affects his core muscles and he is unable to walk. He also has a speech impairment, but makes his feelings well known with gestures, signs and can be very vocal. Declyn loves football and I met him at my son's football team, Hamilton Pheonix where they adopted him as the club mascot. He's there most weeks cheering them on from the sidelines. The money raised will be put towards getting him his own specially designed strike force power wheelchair which is able to move with more agility and spin kick with more power and would allow him to take up powerchair football that he loves. This would give a young man the chance to do something that most of us take for granted. Play a sport he loves.
