I have always been one for fitness but I have now taking things to another level and decided to run the Cambridge Half Marathon in March this year.

Since January 2017 I have been training each week running anything from 5 miles to 13 miles. Now there is NO turning back.

Not only is this my FIRST Half Marathon but I have decided to do this in support of my Godson Jacob who has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. I would like to raise money for Jacob so he can treat himself, enjoy family days out or even a few days away with his family as Jacob deserves the very best.

In 2014 when Jacob was diagnosed it felt like a bad dream but unfortunately it wasn't. Between 2014 - 2016 Jacob had many visits / stays in hospital and had to have chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, blood transfusions, the list goes on.
During 2016 Jacob relapsed and to say my heart sank is an understatement. His Family were heartbroken.
Jacob needed a Bone Marrow Transplant which took place in Bristol in September 2016. When we received the news that the transplant was 100% successful, it was like winning the lottery but actually it was a much better feeling than winning the lottery.

Jacob is still on many medicines daily and has monthly check ups at Bristol and regular check ups at Addenbrookes. He also has blood tests, lumbar punctures, transfusions, fluid and more. Jacob has a long road ahead of him but from the bottom of my heart I am honoured to be his Godfather as his determination, courage and strength is out of this world and no matter how he is feeling he will always have a smile. Jacob you are an INSPIRATION and I am so proud of you pal.
