Story
Daisy is 3 years of age and until recently was perfectly fit and well.
Recently she began to have problems going to the toilet and was then treated by the doctor for constipation. After 4 days the problem seemed to be getting worse and she was sent to Durham Hospital for an ultrasound on her bladder.
Since that day life for the Fail family changed dramatically. The doctors found a large tumour in her pelvic area and sadly the tumour is malignant.
Daisy has since remained in Ward 4 at the Children’s Cancer Ward in the RVI Hospital. Daisy’s consultant and all the staff have been amazing and they are doing everything in their power to treat it and beat it!
They have already managed to shrink the tumour through chemotherapy to just a quarter of its original size and are now planning for Daisy to have an operation in 4 weeks time to remove what is left.
The journey ahead is long but Daisy is fighting this with everything she has.
The Consett Hiking Group are doing the 11 mile walk from Blackhill to Swalwell to fundraise to ease the financial burden that accompanies a diagnosis like this while the family dedicate themselves fully to Daisy and her recovery. Any funds not used for this purpose will be donated directly to the incredible Ward 4 at the RVI.
On behalf of the Fail family, they would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and words of support over the past few weeks and the would like to say a huge thank you in advance for your kindness.
