I am trying to raise money to help the Amerindian community in Barima River, NW Guyana get access to fast and free transportation to the nearest hospital which is approximately 264 miles away. I grew up in Barima River North West Guyana.My mother was native Amerindian from that region. My dad, an Indian immigrant, together with my mother provided all the basic needs for the Amerindian community during the years that we lived there. Unfortunately we all left in the early 1970s. I recently returned for a visit and was shocked to see that the original Amerindian settlement had dwindled from a couple thousand to a meer 100 or so; this diminishing is due to lack of basic needs and services.These native Amerindian people,my original family, are simple easy going and caring people who just need a helping hand. The donation will go directly to the elders of the community and they will use it to buy an outboard motor and boat when we raised and reached the the amount needed.
