As you all been seeing on the news, hundreds of firefighters have been battling the flames, which have been fanned by winds of up to 60mph (100km/h) and have devastated the seaside village of Mati, engulfing homes and vehicles.

This is a biblical catastrophe in the wonderful area of Mati. Dramatic stories of survivors are already in the news, and they need our help.

As a Portuguese national who have suffered last year with the dramatic fires that devastated our beautiful country with so many losing their lives, I can not be still. I know that after 1 year since this fire in Portugal, there are victims still waiting for the help to rebuilt their lives. It's too late for helping them as I didn't knew about crowdfunding. But I have another chance, now with the Greek people.

The EU is going to help as they did with Portugal, but this help is never enough with an apocalyptic event. So, if I can do something, with your help, I will continue to believe in this mankind, and in this world that lately is showing us only wars.

This is not a problem with a easy solution. But we can help and It is our duty.
