I'm a Cub Sixer in the 1st Bicester Intrepid Nelson Pack and I want to raise funds to help my pack achieve their Digital Maker Badges.

My pack don't have the computer resources that is needed to complete the required tasks to achieve the Digital Maker Badges. I asked a local company if they could donate some laptops for this. They kindly donated 11 laptops and a projector that they no longer use, but had to remove the hard drives for security reasons.

To get them working the laptops need new hard drives which will cost about £350.

To raise the funds I'm going to run 5K under 35 minutes at the end of April, and I will appreciate any donation or sponsorship, no matter how small, to help me reach the target of £350 to buy the 11 hard drives! Any money left over will be used to buy some programming gadgets and remaining money will be donated to 1st Bicester Intrepid Scouts.

Digital Maker Activity Badge

The Digital Maker Staged Activity badge help young people to develop skills in problem solving, resilience and creativity, alongside key digital skills essential for today's world.

The activities can be completed using a laptop using Open Source Software. A lot of the activities use Scratch, a programming tool designed for children. It can be used to create games, animations and programs with art, music and sound.
