Story
On Friday 1 February the town of Rickmansworth is turning orange to raise awareness and funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK and for Archie.
The mission is support Archie and the 2500 boys in the UK who also suffer from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, which is a life shortening condition where currently there is no cure.
Archie Hill is an amazing young boy, he is known for his achievements in getting a drug for his condition passed through NICE. The drug is called Translarna which helps to slow down the progression of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Alongside
Muscular Dystrophy UK he fought tirelessly for two years, where he met past and present Prime Ministers. Eventually, with a petition of 26,000 signatures which Archie presented to David Cameron who was firmly on his side, the drug was accepted. Archie's persistence with his campaign has kept him in the public eye. He has made numerous appearances on TV where he captured the hearts of many celebrities with his infectious smile.
My Ricky News has shortlisted Archie for the Young Achiever category in the My Local Hero Awards.
Muscular Dystrophy UK's Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund was set up to accelerate the pace in development of effective treatments for the devastating muscle-wasting condition Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Delighted to donate for a very worthy cause. My nephew Sam suffers from MD so I have seen first hand how debilitating it is. Best of luck Archie and well done Dom.
