Dominic is my brother and he's been fighting with Cystic Fibrosis from the day he was born. This is a genetic disease which affects your whole life. It causes your body to make thick sticky mucus. This causes problems in 2 major areas the lungs and the digestive system. Healthy lungs produce mucus to protect the airways and help you breathe. When you've got CF your mucus is very thick and sticky so clogs up your lungs and makes a great place for bacteria and infections to grow. Mucus cells also line the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and reproductive system so affects everything!
Dominic is now 19 years young and fighting for his life because of this cruel disease. He suddenly got worse and I'm raising money to go towards anything he wishes for at his funeral and for a donation towards the Cystic Fibrosis Charity. I want to do this because he's my little brother and I love him more than the world.
Around 10,400 people in the UK have CF.
1 in 2,500 babies are born with it.
It doesn't sound like a lot but anybody can carry the gene. This cruel disease could affect anybody it doesn't care but all those people out there who have ever been affected by this or will be do and so do I!!
