    Story

The North East War Memorials Project is a registered charity.

www.newmp.org.uk - is a unique web site which covers the North East of England - from the River Tweed to the River Tees. We have recorded over 4,800 War Memorials in the area and told the stories of over 13000 men and women from all wars and conflicts. The web site is searchable by Surname or Place.

www.newmp.org.uk is twelve years old and creaking at the seams.

Our web site provider has emailed:-

Not good news I am afraid.

We have tried to get the website working on our new servers but it is impossible. They simply are not compatible.

We can keep the site running on the old server but I do not know for how long. However, we will keep it running for as long as technically possible

So unless we can raise £25000 this valuable resource to the North East will disappear.

If you believe like Project Members that www.newmp.org.uk is an indispensable resource for the History and Heritage of the North East and should continue to be available for the people of the North East and those with North East Connections please consider making a donation.

We are looking for sponsors to preserve the Digital Memory of our War Memorial Records. Search our vast data base by town or village to see the list of memorials honouring the men and women of that area – you can dedicate your sponsorship to the memory of a relative.

Many war memorials were also raised by public bodies and work places the modern day descendants of these will hopefully help by sponsoring the Digital Memory of their former employees.

    Anonymous donations are also welcome
