Durris Primary School and Charlie House

Every year Durris Parent's Committee raise much needed funds to enable our tiny but brilliant school to take children on trips or to enrich their learning environment in some way. This year things are different. We would still like our school to be able to purchase outdoor games, or maybe musical instruments or books that the children will enjoy every day.

We also know that this year has been very tough on charities. So we would like to pledge half of what we fundraise to Charlie House, an amazing local charity that helps children with complex disabilities or life limiting conditions. Use this link to see just how amazing they are: Charlie House

Because of Covid our school children haven't been able to access their normal p.e. over the past term.To encourage us all to have fun, learn and be active over the coming months we are challenging our school community to 'Walk the World'. We aim to walk, jog, cycle, swim or ride a staggering 40 000km!

Starting from Durris School we are going to cross Europe and onto Oman as Leg 1. Then it’s a big journey across the Indian Ocean to Australia and New Zealand which is our half way mark. On our way back home, we will cross the Pacific Ocean and USA into Canada as Leg 3. Leg 4 takes us across the Atlantic Ocean to Northern Ireland and then our final hop is back home to Durris – a total of 40,039km.
