    Story

This year marks 100 years since the opening of the very first Waldorf school in Germany, by Rudolf Steiner. Around the world celebrations are taking place to commemorate this special occasion, including East Africa. Here in Kenya, 2019 also marks 30 years since the first Steiner School was opened in East Africa. Over the past 30 years Waldorf education has flourished in East Africa, bringing this creative education not only to those who can afford it but also to children whose lives are burdened with poverty, loss and desperation. Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania and Uganda are all home to Waldorf schools and initiatives and they need your help. In April the schools will come together to celebrate reaching this milestone and all that they have achieved with a conference, 'Being' in Movement and a day of celebration. The cost of this event is great and so we are kindly asking you to dig deep and help support us to cover the costs. We wish to create an event that the pupils, parents, teachers, staff and Waldorf community from near and far can come together and celebrate all that has been achieved and dream together of what the future may hold.

£2,000 will cover the costs of a marquee and chairs for the event and anything further will go directly to covering the costs of food, guest speakers and administration costs.

We are hugely grateful for every single donation - together we can truly make a difference!

    THANK YOU!

We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who kindly donated to our page. Although we didn’t quite hit our target, every donation went a long way to helping us cover the costs of the tent and celebration day. We enjoyed a wonderful conference and celebration, filled with laughter, smiles, singing, dancing and merriment, with the coming together of so many people from far and near. Pictures and videos of our special day can be found on Facebook on the ‘Rudolf Steiner’ page. Our thanks, gratitude and blessings for your support!
