    Story

I am so very proud that seven of my students (the Eastfield Eagles) from GKR Karate, Eastfield in Scarborough have qualified to represent Great Britain in this year's GKR Karate World Cup, which takes place from 28-30 June at Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. The majority of my students come from low-income backgrounds, and I would like to raise enough money to get every child to the tournament without causing their families too much financial hardship. We are also fund-raising within the Dojo and local community, asking local organisations and businesses to support us and working as hard as we can to reach our target. Thanks in advance for your help

We has a fabulous Coffee Morning on Saturday raising a total of £401.63. A huge thanks to all the karate students and their parents who turned out to help make it such a great event.

Last Saturday saw us taking part in our Sponsored Walk along the Scarborough Seafront. It was a gloriously sunny afternoon and we all enjoyed it immensly.

Sponsorship for the walk along the seafront is coming in thick and fast, as well as donations towards the tombola and bric-a-brac stalls for the Coffee Morning. Other friends of the Eastfield Eagles have helped by sponsoring some of the Students' Entry fees into the tournament. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement so far.

I have been the Sensei at Eastfield Dojo in Scarborough for 6 years and have seen all my students grow in confidence and ability. The students love tournaments, but this year is very special as 7 of them have qualified for the 2019 GKR Karate World Cup in Milton Keynes
