    Story

The children's playground in Eastpines Park is tired and worn with old equipment and a really worn surface. Despite this it is really popular with local children and with some investment should be the pride of our community, especially at a time with Anchorsholme Park closed there is no where else for children to play in the area.

The Park has seen a number of regeneration projects over the last three years led by the Friends of Eastpines Park with the support of Blackpool Council. These include making the Park a safer place to be by investing in CCTV, removing hedges to create clear lines of sight around the Park and investing in an ongoing sports programme in the Park. These initiatives came under a Phase One part of a regeneration plan to make the Park safe and reduce anti social behaviour.

The Friends of the Park are now ready to launch Phase 2 of the regeneration plan which is to invest in the children's playground. This would involve the following:

New play equipment including a centre piece play item which will inspire everyone to use the playground.
    A new play surface.
Painting the railings surrounding the playground with inviting warm colours

The total cost of the project is estimated to be around £35K and the Friends Group have secured £34,280 and need to raise the remaining £720.

The Friends of Eastpines Park believe the Park should be an outdoor community centre and every penny we get for this exciting project takes us all as a community to that exciting place where we create a Park with great facilities for children and somewhere we can all be proud of.
