Story
The Government insists that Rushcliffe must have a rolling supply of available land for housing so Rushcliffe has come looking for Green Belt sites which are “easy to deliver”. The developers like Green Belt sites too because they are very profitable.
Of course, people need homes but they need homes in the right location - near work or good public transport links. So why does Rushcliffe say that East Bridgford is suitable for MEDIUM to HIGH development? In November 2017 our Parish Council proposed a large development of 100 homes on the Green Belt across the eastern edge of the village and in April Rushcliffe accepted this idea and have now increased their plan to 125 homes. Will this number increase again!?
Can our village support the number of houses?
Can our roads cope with the amount of extra cars (another 200 + cars using the village daily)
What about school places, lack of amenities, lack of road infrastructure and lack of public transport?
Why build on our greenbelt when there are other local sites that can be used?
Please help us to protect our greenbelt, stop the 2 vast estates of 125 houses and save our lovely village!
