In 2020 I am hoping to go on a trip to Ecuador, to help change the lives of people in a developing country (a poor agricultural country that is seeking to become more advanced economically and socially).

I love helping people and doing my bit for the environment, I love to help fundraise for charities, I have previously partaken in helping the homeless and less fortunate. I have done many fundraising events before for a variety of charities (Garden house hospice, Cancer research, Marie Curie and many more) and have previously paid a massive part in helping a homeless gentleman off of the streets when he was at his lowest. We helped set him up with supplies (food, water, socks, hats, gloves, toiletries, etc) and contributed towards him finding a home. Since this, I have even played my part in helping wildlife... I rescued a baby mouse recently, which was injured and close to death. With my love and care I nursed it back to health, and recently released it back into the wild... happy and healthy as ever.

This would be the trip of my dreams as I will be enabled to do everything I love in a new place, I feel we were put on this planet to contribute towards keeping it as happy and healthy as we can. We must do our bit! Whether that be a small gesture or a massive, life changing experience, like I wish to embark on in 2020. This will be in a different community, different country and a whole different environment to what I see everyday in Letchworth. The trip will include- building new schools, to give everyone the chance of having an education and giving everyone the right to learn, installing and devolving local amenities, installing new water facilities and helping the wildlife in the local area.

The overall cost for the trip is £5200 and a deposit of £500 is needed by next week to secure my place on this amazing experience. This kind of money is currently not within my means as I am studying hard for my GCSE’s which I will be sitting early next year. This is something I’ve always wanted to do and now may be my chance.

Throughout my fundraising journey I will be doing many different events to contribute to the final balance. These will include- cake sales, getting sponsorships from businesses, raffles, doing a sponsored run alongside family and doing jobs in my local community.

This wouldn’t just change my life, it would be my contribution to changing the lives of so many others.
