    Story

Having been a Scout all my life I am very proud to now be able to give something back to the Worldwide Scouting Community. Doing this in the shape of volunteering at the World Scout Jamboree next summer was an opportunity that I just could not turn down.

Scouting brings together young people from all walks of life to have a unified and enjoyable time growing up, learning skills and gaining experiences for life. Summit Bechtel Scout Reserve, West Virginia, is opening its campsite to 35,000 Scouts and Guides from all over the world and to be able to support these people on their 'trip of a lifetime' will be very humbling. To do so, I need to raise £3000.

I've signed up to run the Hertfordshire Half Marathon on Sunday 18th November 2018 in order to raise some funds. If this wasn't enough, I am going to try and run 100 km over September and November, with the last effort being the Half Marathon itself.

I am really grateful for your support and donations - it will definitely motivate me to complete the longest running event of my life! Providing the training goes well, I will be aiming for as close to 1hr30 as I can!

Originally I wanted to run 100 km between September and the Half Marathon in mid November ... and I can happily say that I have reached over 120 km already, still with 16 days to go! Moving to Sheffield has meant that proper training has been put on hold but with all these hills around, I hope that I will be able to have a good chance at hitting a 1 hr 30 time! Many thanks to those who have already donated. With your contributions I will ensure that the next generation of young people have the very best experience at the World Scout Jamboree!
