The Guemou Primary School: I had recently the privilege to volunteer to teach Maths and ran various clubs in this primary school, where I was moved by pupils’ enthusiasm and resilience. The school has three classrooms to share between 6 year groups (year1 to year6) where the ratio teacher to student is 1 to 60. Pupils were crammed into single table in the way that it’s almost impossible to write freely. So I need your contribution to make a difference. The fund will provide a huge relief to the pupils in many ways:

a) Renovate three more classrooms allowing each year group to have a classroom and buy new whiteboards

b) Provide a fence for the school to protect from unwanted visitors.

To be sef-sufficient, the fund will also help buy a fridge with a solar panel to raise between £150.00 and £270.00 per year towards the school maintenance. I strongly believe that, in the long term, this improvement will help to lower the level of drop out. Currently, the school has 294 pupils registered with 180 boys (61%) and 114 girls (39%). Data shows that among girls, only around 11% will go to secondary school and less than 2% beyond college !
