    Story

Devastatingly, the Rakai District in Uganda has been hit hard by HIV/AIDS and many children have prematurely lost their parents because of these diseases. As a result of this,  Rakai has one of the highest orphan rates throughout Africa.

Getting a quality education in the suburbs of Africa can be a challenge at the best of times, however with no parents and no money, the orphans in Rakai were unable to receive any education and many were left homeless. This was until two amazing people decided to do something about it...

Dominic and Rose Mukwaya set up and run St. Paul Primary School in the Rakai District, which provides young orphans not only with a home, but also provides them with quality education at no cost.  Dominic and Rose have been so incredibly dedicated to their cause that the primary school has grown from an initial 12 pupils, to currently 600 pupils!

It is amazing to see how excited these young orphans are about being able to go to school. Thanks to Dominic and Rose at KAASO, many orphans who would have previously struggled now have a bright future ahead of them. However, KAASO still has so much more to give.

My husband and I have teamed up with KAASO not only to help fundraise, but also to work with the team on various projects. As a qualified Public Health Professional and also a Primary School Teacher, I will be helping on both the Education and Health programmes at KAASO. As an Industrial Designer, my husband will be helping with Construction and Sustainability projects. We are so excited to have teamed up with KAASO and are already planning a trip to visit the KAASO family in Uganda this summer!

We are looking for donations to help to sustain and develop the amazing work of KAASO, Uganda. Any size donations will be very much appreciated and will be going toward an amazing cause.

"We can't do everything, but we can do something." - Rose Mukwaya.

    Thank you very much.
