Story
A couple of months ago, a friend of mine Neza, came from Malawi. We were all sitting and chatting at a housewarming party. She was telling us stories from her recent trip home, to Malawi, where she was visiting her family, but also organised a large project of porridge distribution to malnourished children in Malawian hospitals.
The stories were very moving, enhanced by the pictures of very thankful dancing patients, but also pictures of the country. During the conversation we realised how lucky we are that we do have jobs, plentiful of food, supporting families and friends and if we want to obtain a higher education we can relatively easily do it. This is not the case in Malawi, where skilled teenagers often have to go to work to provide for the family.
On the 25th January 2019 we are organising a traditional Burns Night Supper. We are going to have a traditional three course dinner, address to the haggis, piper, raffle and many other attractions. All the proceeds from this event will be used to aid university education of a talented teenager in Malawi.
I know that many of you won’t be able to attend but still would like to make contribution. Remember, even the smallest donation will make a difference. Thank you very much.
