    Story

Families often struggle to make ends meet at Christmas and many can't afford to give their kids the type of Christmas Day that the media suggests we're all having.

Since 2015, we've been organising our hugely successful Festive Feast for families who are referred by a range of partner organisations in Edinburgh. We treat our guests to a traditional, three-course festive meal at a city centre restaurant, with a complementary taxi to get to and from the event. We also gift each family a supermarket voucher so they can buy some extra treats during the holiday period.

The meal is cooked by our resident, award winning chef, Colin Hinds; founder of Kilted Lobster and it's associated social enterprise, Cooking Up a Storm. Festive Feast hopefully allows families to enjoy Christmas Day and remove some of the stress and isolation that people often experience at this time of year.

Appetite for Change is a collective of volunteers who get together at Christmas to organise this event. We don't generate any money so your donations will enable us to make sure we can organise transport (which is essential on Christmas Day) and give our guests a small gift. Thank you for your support!!
