Hi,

Operation Wallacea (Opwall) runs conservation research expeditions to 14 different countries worldwide. These expeditions are designed with specific wildlife conservation aims in mind - from identifying areas needing protection, through to implementing and assessing conservation management programmes.

I am lucky enough to be going with a group of 13 school friends to the Indonesian island of Buton in June where I will will spend the first week in the lowland forests of Sulawesi to help with biodiversity surveys, and a second week diving at the Opwall marine research centre in the heart of the Coral Triangle.

As a group we have raised some money through school fundraisers such as a Quiz night and a Krispy Kreme doughnut sale. I am also working in Tesco to help pay for the trip.
