After graduating from University in July, I am taking some time to volunteer and travel overseas, in communities and churches in Australia. I am first spending 6 months with YWAM (Youth With A Mission); with the first 3 months studying on a DTS (Discipleship Training School), in Newcastle, Australia, focussing on social justice and compassion. We will have opportunities to get involved in various projects in the community; with youth, those living on the streets, and much more. Then, we will spend 3 months on outreach in another country (of which I don't yet know!), applying all that we have learned in DTS, to helping those that we meet and showing them the love of Jesus in practical ways. The focus of YWAM is "knowing God and making God known " - so I am embarking on this adventure to learn more about God and what He is calling me to, and to have opportunities to serve him in new communities across the globe. I am passionate about helping those who have suffered injustice and are on the fringes of society. I have participated in different projects with this focus during my time at Uni, and this feels like the right next step to put my Psychology degree into action. I will also hopefully then be spending around a month travelling, staying with and serving Churches in the Australian Pioneer Network.
