Story
My brother Michael passed away on 12th April 2018 aged 47years. Michael had been diagnosis with cerebral palsy and downs syndrome. For the last 28 years of his life Michael attended Omagh Centre who provided excellent care for him and others with similar disabilities.
The Omagh Centre is a fifty-place day care facility which caters for the needs of adults with learning disabilities opened in 1978. The Omagh Centre aims to provide were possible ongoing educational opportunities and support which is under pinned by personal, social and vocational training for you adults aged 18 and over.
Our family would love to acknowledge the excellent care he received, and his friends continue to receive from all the staff at the Omagh Centre.
I plan to undertake a number of challenging events to help raise funds to purchase a specialised seating system for the Centre. My first big challenge will be two half marathons on the 4th and 5th of August at the Celtic Warrior in Westmeath, then on the 9th September I’m off to do the Great North Run. I will be organising a Fundraiser through Crossfit Omagh October 14th and also a Coffee Morning date to be confirmed.
I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me for one or all of these events. All the money raised will go towards buying the specialist equipment, a fitting tribute to Michael’s memory and the excellent care he received at the Centre.
