Story
The charity's objective is to raise funds for the further research, maintenance and as much as possible restoration of the Telestirion in ancient Elefsina, Greece.
Elefsina was probably the first organised site in western world, that esoteric rituals were taking place. Located about 20 km (13 miles) from Akropolis of Athens, the site was devoted to ancient Greek goddess Demetra (Ceres according to Romans), and it perfectly complemented the Panathinea ceremony that was taking place in Athens. The Elefsinia Mysteries were taking place once a year, and many important figures of the ancient Greek world were taking part, in order to gain the knowledge through specific rituals in regards to the cycles of world evolution and life. Many people do consider Elefsinia Mysteries to be the direct or indirect predecessors of more modern ceremonies such as Freemasons or even Christian church.
This site can be easily considered a place of world interest and heritage, as it has played a very vital part in the evolution of ancient Greek civilization in the way we do know it nowdays.
The funds will be raised in order to be donated to Diazoma Association, which has taken the initiative of this project in cooperation with the Greek Ministry of Culture.
