The plight of the majestic African Elephant continues. Numbers are still on the decline, 1000's poached annually for their tusks. Dr Michael Chase, a personal friend of mine, established Elephants Without Borders.
Mike's goal is to
1. conduct research and conservation studies on the ecology and behaviour of the African Elephants
2. promote environmental education and awareness in schools and rural communities to teach an appreciation and respect for the natural world
3. identify and implement sustainable measures to help reduce human-elephant conflict, encouraging a compatible relationship between people and wildlife.

To raise money for this organisation I decided to shave off my hair. Whilst my hair was already relatively short, it was a massive decision as you can't hide behind your hair!!! I feel exposed and somewhat vulnerable but so do our elephants....and they don't have a choice about what we do to them.
