On Wednesday 25th April 2018 at 6:08 AM, myself and my husband welcomed our little boy into the world. I was just 21 weeks into my pregnancy and we had just discovered our son had severe Spina Bifida. He was too poorly and we had to say goodbye. We named him Leo, our brave little lion. No amount of photos or footprints would ever make us feel as we would if we could have brought him home but now these are all we have. These are our precious memories of that day we spent holding him, kissing him and telling him how loved he would always be.

The care and kindness we received at Chesterfield Royal Hospital Birth Centre was outstanding and we could never repay them for how they treat us that day, including our boy and our grieving families. We want to say thank you somehow and we want Leo’s name to live on in something positive so here we are.

We are hoping to raise £1000 between now and Leo’s first birthday 25.04.19 in a variety of ways but for now this justgiving page is the first step and we are extremely grateful for any amount you donate. The money we raise will be split (why we are crowdsurfing and not fundraising for a specific charity option) between the birth centre and ’Shine’ the charity for Spina Bifida research and for helping families of children with SB or those grieving families who have lost children, like us.

We have decided to name this charity, Brave Little Lion Funds - in memory of our brave little boy. Thank you for reading, donating or helping us in anyway.
