    Story

Hi friends! Please consider supporting me with a small donation as I hike to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for the MND and Me Foundation. The Foundation delivers support programs and funds research into treatments and a cure for MND (Motor Neuron Disease).

This awesome little Australian charity has a huge Aussie heart, and I'm a big believer that helping out should know no barriers - geographic included. So friends from around the world, wherever you are: if you did the Ice Bucket Challenge and loved the impact that effort made, if you or someone you love has been affected by MND, if you've been helping me get ready and want to send me off in style, or if you just think giving is awesome and when you can you love to do small things that make a big difference – give me a hand to raise £2000!

Two groups of fundraisers are making the trek, and together we've already raised more than $150,000 Australian dollars. I'm grateful for any support you make here to take that even higher.

For your awesome support, you'll get to follow me as I make my way up to the bottom of the top of the world. Connectivity permitting, I'll keep you updated on progress and share the experience with you here. You can follow along at #ebc4mnd too.

Kathmandu is pretty incredible - colourful, dusty, a bit loud, the drivers follow zero rules, and the people are so friendly! Thanks so much for the support :)

Today's the day! After miles of hiking and zillions of stairs the flight to Kathmandu is tonight. I've wanted to visit Nepal since I was a kid so the excitement for that is helping blunt the nerves about the trek up to base camp. Next update will be live from Nepal! Thanks for your support :)

I hear the serious mountaineers drill holes in toothbrushes and cutlery to reduce their pack weight, but my advice is don't do that with your hip flask.
