Story
My name is Ellie, im 16 and i am running the Blackpool 10k for the Martin Hibbert Foundation.
The 22nd May 2017 changed the lives of thousands of people. Those who attended the concert and those who didnt. i gained many new and amazing friends throughout the past year and a half, all of who were affected by the tragic event. I have learnt more than I ever thought i would just by watching them heal and grow from what they’ve been through. They are the source of my inspiration to so something to take a stand, make a difference and live to the fullest for our 22. Especially Georgina, a beautiful soul who i had the pleasure of speaking to about a year before her life was cruelly taken from her.
However, my passion to do something was put fully in motion by Martin Hibbert when he did the Great Manchester Run in his wheelchair, i was completely and utterly inspired by his strength and defiance. If you would like to read more about Martins massive achivement you can do so here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/dad-left-paralysed-after-arena-14629356.amp
The Martin Hibbert foundation‘s slogan is ‘bee inspired‘ which is exactly what i was. I could not think of a better foundation to support on my first big running event. The foundation was set up to help raise a £1 million for the hospitals that saved his, his daughter‘s and many many others lives. So please, donate for this amazing cause.
