Since 1985 LDWP has been sending out teams of young people to help build up educational provision in more deprived parts of the world. These are mostly building projects, but with some focused on teaching. We do small-scale, sustainable projects, usually in rural areas where the opportunities for education are extremely limited. The provision of education has a huge impact.

During the summer of 2018 Ellie spent her summer holidays helping build a school in Uganda. This year during her time off from University Ellie is spending 5 weeks in July and August teaching children English, Maths and Computing in a rural area of Tanzania through the Lasallian Project. Travel, food and lodgings will cost £1,400 and to help Ellie start fundraising for this we are taking part in the Monklands Half Marathon (Stuart and Anthony Robertson) on Sunday 12th May and climbing Ben Nevis on Saturday 18th May (Ellie and Connall Crothers, Sam McQuillian and Stuart Robertson).
