Project to fund Art and Play Therapy and Talking Therapy for our four children survivors of domestic abuse aged 2-11

We are group of mothers and friends who recently have fled domestic abuse and violence . We are survivors of domestic abuse and violence. We set up this page to support our children and ourselves in healing and recovery from the traumas of our relationships.

Ours and our children lives were shattered by the perpetrators: many of us had to flee our homes leaving ours and our children belongings behind. Many of us lost our support network we had built over the years as we had virtually 24hrs to relocate. This impacted our and our children’s lives in so many ways that we now need time to piece our lives and our children lives back together: we and our children are going to therapies provided by charities which are giving us tools to get back our health, establish our boundaries and find the way back to professional life but the funding is limited and they are stopping soon.

Children normalise patterns. Over their early childhood they have been exposed to abnormal level of abuse and violence. We don’t want them to believe that this is ‘normal behaviour in relationships’ and we must break the cycle. We want our children to be able to heal in normal and healthy life. Therefore, both us and them need ongoing, regular support and therapy.

We survived to make sure that our children will heal and create healthy relationships and healthy society in the future. We want that their children won’t have to ever go through what we have been through.

Unfortunately, our great NHS and social services are overstretched and under funded. Therefore, availability of treatments and sessions is very limited. We have been put on 9-18 months waiting lists.

Our children and ourselves need tratement and help urgently - we cannot afford our children to carry on living with the trauma sysmptoms and suffer in their daily lives. Every single day where they don’t get help they get worse.
