Story
You may have seen on the news recently that Venezuela is in a terrible humanitarian crisis at the moment and animals are in the most horrific situation. This is nothing new, this has been happening for many years but is only now being reported widely. We have been working with our partner charity there for over two years to send emergency food, medicine and hold essential neuter and spay clinics for streets dogs and cats as well as paying for anaesthetic for emergency operations. Our team of volunteers work so so hard but with very little food for humans, animals are starving and unable to get veterinary treatment due to the shortages.
The situation gets worse every day. Due to horrific levels of inflation, nobody can afford to feed their own animals, let alone those on the street. Many people have left the country, leaving their dogs behind in thousands to fend for themselves on the street. This is absolutely horrific and heartbreaking to watch.
Our volunteers do the best they can to get food and veterinary treatment to the most vulnerable dogs - mixing chicken‘s feet with pumpkin and rice, just to give them some strength, some warmth in their tummies, but they urgently need help. We work with small teams of volunteers there who work miracles - you can’t believe the obstacles they overcome to feed and give veterinary treatment to these animals.
We are now trying to help monthly so that the volunteers know what they can buy and how many dogs they can feed. With your donations, we will send urgent sacks of food/canned food and rice, provide emergency medicine such as antibiotics and painkillers and continue holding our free neuter and spay clinic every week, operating on approximately 50 animals a month.
Please help us - no donation is too small. Thank you so much.
NOTE: We understand that donating to an online campaign can be worrying so we prefer to be completely transparent - our charity’s registration numbers are below and my own name is on the campaign. If you want to speak to somebody before donating (or prefer our UK charity bank account details) - please just send a message and I will give you our telephone number. You can also see many years of posts on our main facebook page www.facebook/animalangelsglobal if you want to see what we do before donating. We work very hard on very limited resources so if you would like to fundraise or volunteer for us, we always need lots of help. We’d love to have you on board!
