    Story

Myself and a few colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group have decided that it would be a chance of a lifetime to volunteer in Gambia in October 2019.
From growing up with my Mum, Dad and Nana raising money for different charities around africa and teaching me what difference it makes to them, I never would have thought I would have the amazing opportunity to physically go there and help them myself. Being able to see how our fundraising transforms their lives will just be incredible.
I have a friend who experienced this back in 2017 and the stories she told me about it have completely warmed my heart.
We really do take things for granted, and this is truly highlighted when we compare what we have, to what they could only dream of having - yet they are always so happy!

The difference we can make -
    • Help renovate houses for people who are in need
    • Teach working mothers basic maths
    • Visit a school which allows the children to hear the English language which will help their development
    • Help them collect water
    • Help college students get their Make Up qualification, as they are unable to get this until they do make up on European skin.
    • Provide food subscriptions for families for 12 months.
    • We will take suitcases full of clothes, stationary and nappies.
    • Give children to the opportunity of an education

There are many more ways our money can help, but that is just a few. Think of it in this way -
We can spend £100 on a night out, whereas in Gambia, that £100 can buy a child their education.

We will be hosting many different fundraising activities in the run up to October, but to kickstart it off, I have registered to abseil off the Forth Road Bridge on the 7th of July in aid of Alzheimers Scotland. This charity is also close to my heart as my Nana had Alzheimers and I know so many people who have suffered the same. I am aiming to raise around £200 for Alzheimers Scotland and the rest to the Gunjar Project Lodge.

Any donation will be very appreciated. Thank you
