I am so excited and blessed to be taking part in a volunteering trip to Gambia this year with a group of my work colleagues. Everyone that knows me will know that this is as far out of my comfort zone as I have ever ventured!

I’m a bit nervous but also so up for this challenge. We plan as a group to get involved in a variety of projects, some examples of which are below:

• Help renovate houses for people who are in need

• Teach working mothers basic maths

• Visit a school which allows the children to hear the English language which will help their development

• Help them collect water

• Help college students get their Make Up qualification, as they are unable to get this until they do make up on European skin.

• Provide food subscriptions for families for 12 months.

• We will take suitcases full of clothes, stationary and nappies.

• Give children the opportunity of an education

As you can see we hope to make a real difference and I would so appeciate any help at all you can give!
