I have been accepted on to the Think Pacific 1 month Volunteer programme over in Fiji next year in May, and am hoping to raise £1000 towards the cost of the programme itself and also getting myself over there!

Money raised will go towards the community I will be living in during my stay. In rural Fiji over 75% of the children live in poverty so Think Pacific's aim is to empower disadvantaged youth to overcome poverty issues. This funding will be used directly to support the children in Fiji by supplying resources, helping to re-build and equip schools and supporting long term educational initiatives for children and local teachers.

During my time there I will be working with children 1-1 in the local school, living with a Fijian family, learning their ways of life as well as teaching them new skills and building their knowledge in the hope of being able to provide a solid foundation for them to grow on. And that's just to name a few things!

Over the course of the year I will be doing some fundraising events/activities so i'll keep everyone up to date on those also, and if anyone wants to join in to help raise more, you're more than welcome!
