This page is raising funds in memory of Esme Rogers. Much loved mother to Kath, Colin, Mike, Des and Ellen, grandmother to Hannah, Callum and Brogan, and great-grandmother to Lyra and Henry.

All money raised will be donated in her name to Esme's Umbrella - an aptly named charity aimed at working towards a greater awareness of the Charles Bonnet Syndrome (CBS), which she suffered from in the later years of her life.

The condition causes some people who have lost their sight to experience vivid visual hallucinations. CBS can be frightening and debilitating – not least because it may be confused mistakenly with the onset of dementia. For this reason too many people suffer in silence, and Esme's umbrella aims to raise awareness and understanding of CBS among medical practitioners of all specialties; to give information about CBS itself and offer comfort, reassurance and practical advice to those who have developed the condition; to host results of on-going research and share new medical discoveries.
