I'm volunteering in Sri Lanka in August 2019. I want to help with their Marine Conservation and Wildlife Program. When in Sri Lanka I'll be volunteering in one of five areas: an agricultural program, replanting crops after Tsunami damage; the jungle re-plantation program, where volunteers work to tackle deforestation and make tree-frog nests; the Beach and River clean-up, where we're able to clean 100kg of plastic off 100m of beach as Sri Lanka is the 5th most polluted nation in the world. The sustainability awareness program allows us to go into smaller communities and schools and talk about the importance of conserving wildlife and taking care of the environment, and in the Turtle Hatchery Program we conduct night-watches over turtle eggs on beaches (to minimize the threat of collector's selling them as is common in Sri Lanka), and helping injured adult turtles in the conservations' rehabilitation program. Volunteers help injured turtles swim, clean their wounds, feed them and build turtle tanks. We even get to release them back into the Ocean once they're well again!!

This is one of the greatest dreams of mine, its getting me through the Winter months at Uni and is something I've wanted to do for years. I want to change the world - even on the tiniest scale - and donating even the smallest amount can help me realize this insane goal!! Any donations at all are immensely appreciated. x
