Toni's story started when she got gestational diabetes. Her journey since then.. has been a hard one for all those that love her.. to watch the person you care about slowly deteriorate due to this silent killer.. Toni moved almost 10 years ago to Scotland. Her health quickly plumpted. Finding herself on a life support machine.. she was soon fitted with a pacemaker..Toni soon became partially sighted and although has had surgery.. she is now classified as blind..not only did we nearly loose her that first year.. Toni has suffered 3 minor strokes. Each effecting more and more each time.To top that off she had a fall in hospital which resulted in a broken hip.. as you can imagine her mobility is very restricted. Using a wheelchair to get around.. last year Toni was diagnosed with CKD.. Chronic kidney disease . This has taken over her life with dialysis 3 -4 times a week. Since my visit last weekend.. it has become apparent that Toni in fact now has ESRD end stage renial disease.. Toni isnt a candidate for a transplant. So unfortunately is just about prolonging things as long as possible and improving her quality of life..please help me help her.. my love and gratitude always
