Hi guys, I'm Ben Deevoy, Gadget to my friends. I'm a passionate activist & have been campaigning against the toxic fracking industry for 6 years taking 23 arrests & taking just two convictions.
A few years ago I locked on outside an igas drilling site at Ellesmere Port. I was charged with aggravated trespass & sentenced to 8 weeks in jail (amended to 4 after appeal). Whilst I was in jail the Chester Standard published that I had been sent down due to Robbery in my preconvictions. This was a lie by Neil Bellis. Neil Bellis who is currently employed as communications officer for Cheshire Police. I let this one slide with it being an irrelevant local rag by a lousy reporter.
However last christmas The Fail on Sunday published a double spread smear against anti fracking campaigners, claiming I had a previous conviction for robbery. This was untrue & was unsourced.
It made last christmas extremely stressful for me whilst I had to negotiate my reputation with my peers.
I have won a press standards investigation after confirmation from my legal team that I, of course, do NOT have convictions of Robbery.
Now it's time to take Civil Action & sue the Fail on Sunday for libel. I have a legal team prepared to take on the case no win, no fee. However I need to initiate proceedings & there is a cost of 500-750 quid. Please help me sue the Fail on Sunday.
Go go gadget claim !
Thank you
