Weʼve raised £120 to Attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree 2019

Funded on Wednesday, 1st May 2019

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

Sébastien and Madeleine Foëx have been selected to represent Great Manchester North Unit 43 at the 24th World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia, USA.

The World Scout Jamboree occurs once every 4 years and Scouts will therefore only get one chance to attend.

The World Scout Jamboree is above all an educational event that brings together the world’s young people to promote peace and mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills. This will be an unique opportunity to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds (45,000 Scouts from 160 countries).

So far we have raised just under half of the £4,000 we each have to raise (yes £8,000 in total for both of us!!!) The £4,000 each covers our costs but also goes towards subsidising Scouts from low income countries so they may experience the Jamboree too. It's great that, through our fundraising, we are abIe to help young people across the world who are not as fortunate as we are.

We have been busy raising funds through Easter Chick sales, cake sales, sponsored Hikes, selling ice pops and we are currently designing Christmas Crads.

Any donation, no matter how small, will help us take part in this once in a lifetime trip next year.

Thank you for your help Sébastien and Madeleine
