Story
Before starting I would like to thank you all for having a look on our page and reading Brian and Sue's story it really does mean a lot, i'll apologise in advance for the length haha!
A month after getting married in 2015, Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer it was incredibly difficult to watch this amazing woman suffer at the hands of such a cruel diagnosis, as I'm sure some of you have had experience with too. Their first months together married were spent dealing with hospital appointments, stress, illness and upset from the pain of chemo but, they still went on and were the happy and wonderful people we know and love. Fortunately a year and a half later Sue kicked cancers butt! And for a few short months everything seemed great until Sue began to feel unwell at work, after a hospital appointment in November 2017 our worst fears were confirmed Sue's cancer had returned except now it had returned as secondary stage 4 bone cancer in her skull, ribs and the bottom of her spine, spine and 1 close to her pituitary gland which effects her eyesight, we were told it's not curable but it is treatable.
This has physically taken it's toll on Sue's body. Due to the tumours in her spine her mobility is at an all time low and it is highly unlikely she'll be able to walk unassisted again, also due to her low immune system she has contracted Sepsis THREE times but came out fighting all the way. It has been hell for Sue and to make it worse She has not been living at home with Brian since August due to their current accommodation being completely unsuitable, she has been staying in hospitals and care homes, away from her husband and home, yet through it all she continues to be a fluffy ball of sunshine putting other peoples needs before her own.
Through this all Sue has had the absolute diamond of a husband Brian by her side, supporting her through absolutely everything unfortunately Brian has always had health issues although, he took this new situation in his stride and put his wife before him at all times then, in August Brian suffered from a stress related stroke which caused internal bleeding in his Brain, we were extremely close to losing him and had he not been in the hospital for a blood test appointment on the day he was he most likely would not been standing here today.
Their entire marriage has not been the wonderful fairytale which they had dreamed of and we as a family want to change that although, we will need some help. We want to give them a mini-moon around the country and most importantly put money towards a mobility scooter for Sue as well as a few other bits and bobs to make their life a bit better and easier.
This is only some of their story but, I would like to thank you for reading this far, I really hope you can help us give Brian and Sue what they deserve.
