Since the 12th January 2017 my world has become a lonelier place... Less than 3 months after receiving a diagnosis of lung cancer, our Mum, our Granny Franny, Frances... became tired and left this world for a more spiritual one, where faeries flutter, pixies mutter, witches stir-up crazy spells and hobbits advenutre bare-footed through forests.

Its been our wish to plant a tree in her memory... A place one can sit, remember, smoke, scream, appear mad and talk at its branches, at the sky, to the stars. A place touched by jack-frost in winter, crowned in bronze & gold come autumn, buzzing with honey bees in summer and a home to squirrels and owls all the years long. A safe place.

Finally we have the go ahead for that safe place... somewhere Frances spent time in her youth, a somewhere that Ray took Fran and Fran took Ray as young love blossomed. Then mum and dad took Graham, Paul and then Helen, after dark to gaze at stars and ride the rocking horse, whilst watching the moon, wide-eyed, in search of a santa sleigh silhouette, on many a cold Christmas Eve. A somewhere that Frances walked her Molly dog and then Winnie dog. A somewhere that Granny Franny took her grand-sprogs to paddle in streams, feed ducks, follow swans, collect pine cones, chase squirrels and climb trees.

We have this week, received confirmation that our request to plant a tree in Kearsney Abbey has been considered and will form part of the lottery-funded restoration programme.

Please help us raise the funds for a Frances Tree and plaque. A somewhere for nature and everyone who knew her and loved her.
