SKI GB STOKE ON TRENT is a small independent up and coming club which is part of a worldwide organisation who have several current and historical world, European and national champions. Our small club has its own current European gold medalist and also a silver European medalist who is also the British national champion 4 times over and the winner of the Kanasawa cup in Ireland 2016. We currently have 19 students training at our dojo which is based in a school sports hall that we rent through our local council. We have 2 instructors, 1 senior and 1 junior who take classes twice a week for 90 mins each class. These instructors are so committed that they teach voluntarily week in week out so that all proceeds made from the clubs attending students are invested back into the clubs funds which then are used to subsidise the students when they attend other clubs for competitions, seminars and grading etc.
 As you can appreciate students do come and go and to save parents purchasing new Gi's we initially supply them on the understanding that if they decide to leave then they are to hand this back in to the club, if they decide to continue then they are to purchase their own Gi which the club subsidises up to 50%. We are based in an area where unemployment is high and youth services are extremely scarce or expensive. This is the reason we try to help our students as best we can. Our instructors have attended many competitions both within the UK and abroad which they have paid for themselves and not through the small proceeds of the club. These proceeds are used solely for our students who would otherwise be unable to participate. There are however, many activities and seminars etc that our clubs students could attend but are unable to due to lack of funds. We are asking for donations in order to expand and continue to keep our club running and helping our students further their knowledge and progression in karate
