    Story

We want to re-vamp the children’s play equipment in Collett Park. Described as the ‘jewel’ of the town, the park is proudly a key part of our local community used by many people daily, hosting weekly Park Runs, and many cultural and charity events. However, the children’s play area is severely dated, un-inclusive and only attractive to a narrow age range of children (4 ~ 9).

We want to renew the play park equipment so that it would be designed to (i) be attractive for children aged 1 ~ 14 (ii) be inclusive so can be used by children with a wide range of mental and physical abilities (iii) use natural materials where possible to reflect its semi-rural location.

The park is maintained by an independent charitable trust but FReSH is raising money on their behalf; our charity exists to improve the provision of free-to-access recreation in equipment in Shepton Mallet.
