    Story

We are raising money to make it possible for Towela to take up her place to train to become a midwife. In Zambia midwives are sorely needed, but training costs money that few can afford, particularly an orphan like Towela. I know Towela personally because I used to live and work close to her orphanage. She's a bright, compassionate 20 year old and she has the potential to make a positive difference in a setting where women cannot easily access specialist care when they need it. I lost a friend last year in Zambia following the birth of her beautiful twins. Her death would have been preventable with proper care, which is incredibly frustrating as well as devastating.

Towela has a place to study at Ndola Central Hospital, Zambia. Her studies are due to commence at the end of October 2018. Please help us make it possible for her to start her course. Her tuition fees for the academic year come to £920. She has to pay 30% at the end of next week before she starts the course and the balance is due in March. Without funding she will not be able to take up her place. Enabling someone like Towela to study to become a midwife will undoubtedly save lives.

Hi everyone! Towela is working hard and enjoying her new challenge. Here's a photo at the hospital and a message from Towela to all of you: "My name is Towela Bridget Vwalika. I just want to sincerely appreciate you all for allowing God to use you in helping me with my tertiary education. In doing this, you are simply telling me that I should never forget to help others in the way you are helping me. May God continue showering you with love according to his riches and glory. THANK YOU!" We almost have enough for her fees for the year...

We now have enough money for Towela to start her course on Friday, thank you so so much for your generous donations! I will post a photo of Towela on her first day - she's humbled and incredibly grateful to everyone for their support. It's not too late to donate if you would like to do so, we need a little more money to be able to pay the full balance of her fees by March.
