Weʼve raised £30 to Host an underground art auction, Artbox 2018, in aid of Manchester Mind

    Manchester, UK
Funded on Wednesday, 6th March 2019

    Story

After the huge success of Funraising's launch event Artbox last December where we raised over £1000 for our chosen charity Manchester Mind, the team knew it was an easy decision to take it up a notch and bring you the second coming-Artbox 2.0. See our review here of how things went down last year and watch the official Artbox video below of our fantastic launch!

So on December 13th 2018 our collective will be holding another alternative silent art auction, once again fundraising for Manchester Mind, the mental health charity whilst also raising the fun in Solomon's Cafe Bar in Withington, South Manchester. But we need your help in the mean time to raise funds so that we can provide our artists with some basic art materials to work.

Remind me, why are Funraising hosting this again?

We believe art and mental health have a close relationship. Art has the power to evoke emotions in a powerful way and make people think. We aim to give talented, local artists a platform to show case their work and equally give students and beyond the chance to interact with and own some incredible art. Hugely positive vibes came out of the last one and we want to do the same again!

    Why Manchester Mind?

As a charity, donations from fundraisers much like ours go a long way in supporting the running of the services they provide to those with mental health needs. This includes their advice services and community projects that support in developing potential and empowerement in those individuals who need it most. Find out more about Manchester mind and everything they do at this link https://www.manchestermind.org/.

    A final word

By supporting our crowdfunding efforts, you will enable us to buy essential art materials for the artists we are working with as well as other supplies such as funds to print art, frames (to show off the beautiful work) and decor for the venue. Whilst we have done our best to keep costs down, inevitably art supplies can be expensive and as a group of students we simply couldn't host this without kind donations from the likes of wonderful people like yourselves out there. It certainly went a long way last year to making the event a success and we trust the same can be done again this time around.

We'll catch you soon on December 13th in Solomon's basement
