After nearly 20 years researching family violence prevention it is clear that the nature of research funding available has changed over that time. Specifically, there is no UK funding body that supports only family violence prevention research; and funding designed to support the set up of new projects (seed funding), and the sharing of knowledge in this field is extremely limited. The dream therefore, is to use the funds raised through this page to register a charitable trust that will, over time, make grants to UK-based academics, that will support the development of innovative ideas, as well as the sharing of ideas. Through these ideas, evidence-based practice will develop that will ultimately lead to a reduction in the burden of family violence on individuals, communities and society.
